A West Dalhousie man is facing more than 60 charges after police searched a Bridgetown home.
Police searched the Morse Road home on Jan. 9 as part of an ongoing drug investigation. They seized the man’s vehicle, four shotguns, four rifles, five conducted energy weapons, a crossbow, a knife, a switchblade, brass knuckles, quantities of suspected cocaine, methamphetamine and psilocybin, drug paraphernalia and an undisclosed amount of cash.
Ryan Laviolette, 36, was arrested outside the home. He appeared in court on Jan. 9 and was remanded into custody pending a Jan. 13 appearance in Annapolis Royal.
The Annapolis District RCMP Street Crime Enforcement Unit (SCEU) has charged him with more than 60 offences including; 16 counts each of careless use of a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and possession of an unauthorized firearm, eight counts each of unauthorized possession of a firearm and possession of a prohibited weapon, two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and one count each of possession of property obtained by crime and breach of probation.
The Valley integrated SCEU and Annapolis County RCMP officers were part of the search.
