KISS FM Nova Scotia
Strong numbers for tourism in Nova Scotia from 2024 as we head into a fresh season.
The province says last year, we had over two million visitors, with spending that generated $3.5 billion in revenue.
The number of tourists did dip down two per cent from 2023, however revenues grew 10 per cent.
Those arriving by air increased by six per cent with more non-stop connections, but there was a decline in the number people driving here.
Nova Scotia also saw more visitors from the western part of our country and the United States last year, with fewer coming from the other Atlantic provinces as well as Ontario.
For 2025, the province is investing $4.5 million in programs to support tourism with advertising campaigns in Atlantic Canada, Ontario, Quebec, Calgary, the U.S., the United Kingdom and Germany.
Minister Dave Ritcey says we are an exciting travel destination with visitors that love our “stunning coastlines, rich cultures and world-class golf, seafood and wines.”
“We’re working closely with communities and businesses to raise our province’s profile and inspire people to choose Nova Scotia for their next vacation.”
