Feds spending $5.1 million on intimate partner violence groups in N.S.

todayApril 3, 2025

Background

Organizations that deal with intimate partner violence are getting more money from the federal government for prevention and support services.

Twenty-eight groups in Nova Scotia are getting a total $5.1 million as part of a federal program, which the province signed onto a few years ago, according to a news release.

It’s the second year of funding. Last year was the first, which gave $3.1 million to several groups for a total of 16 projects.

Of the 28 projects, 26 will get funding for several years “to ensure long-term impact,” the release said.
