The Town of Lunenburg is beginning its review of the proposed 2025-26 budgets for the town, water utility, and electric utility.
Council will meet as Committee of the Whole on Tuesday, April 29 at 6 p.m. to discuss the draft budgets.
At the meeting, town staff will first present the draft budgets, followed by an opportunity for public input. Residents who wish to speak at the meeting will each have up to three minutes.
No decisions will be made during this session. Council will then revisit the budgets during meetings scheduled for May 13 and May 27, with budget approval expected at the May 27 session. However, that timeline could be delayed if council decides more information is needed.
The April 29 meeting is open to the public and will be held at Town Hall, 120 Townsend Street, using the accessible back entrance. It will also be livestreamed on Zoom.
Residents who are unable to attend can submit comments by email to kbyrne@townoflunenburg.ca.
Comments for the May 13 meeting must be submitted by May 6.
Comments for the May 27 meeting must be submitted by May 20.
Those sending feedback can indicate whether they would prefer their comments not appear in the public agenda. In that case, comments will be shared privately with council and staff.
