The QEII Halifax Infirmary emergency department is partially closed Friday night as it experiences a partial power outage.
According to the Nova Scotia Health Authority (NSHA), the infirmary is only accepting life-threatening emergencies for now and anyone with urgent medical needs should call 911.
NSHA says anyone in need of non-urgent care should contact their family doctor or primary care provider, adding that general health advice and information can be provided 24 hours a day by calling 811.
The health authority said an update with be provided once the ER reopens.
