Some Nova Scotians are dealing with very windy, wintery weather this spring weekend.
Environment Canada has issued wind and winter storm warnings for parts of the province.
Northwesterly gusts to 90 km/hr are expected for northeastern Nova Scotia, including areas of Cape Breton, from Sunday evening until Monday morning. Utility outages could occur.
The Highlands could get 20 cm of snow or more with winds to 90 km/h. Coastal communities from Mabou to the Meat Cove area will see a mixture of snow and rain and little accumulation. Meanwhile, communities near the coast in Victoria County from Dingwall southward to Englishtown will experience just some scattered showers and flurries.
The forecaster advises that the main concern would be accumulating snowfall over higher terrain on Route 30. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions.
